CAPEC aims to produce scientific work on behalf of the Ivorian administration to inform the government's economic policy. It also serves as a national framework for reflection, research, information, and advice for international institutions, economic operators, and other professional organisations.

The specific objectives of CAPEC are to conduct studies and research intended to inform decision-makers and Ivorian socio-economic groups, with the goal of strengthening national capacities for policy analysis and economic development; to offer economic agents a national framework for reflection and scientific engagement that fosters dialogue on major economic issues of interest to Côte d’Ivoire and the sub-region; and to provide ongoing training for administrative staff in the field of macroeconomic and sectoral policy analysis.

CAPEC is aligned with the work of the Global South Perspectives Network (GSPN) by promoting development coordination between and within Think tanks in the Global South. It also emphasizes the importance of inclusive dialogue and representation in global governance, advocating for the voices of marginalised communities to be heard and considered in decision-making processes.
