C20 meeting organised by the Governments of Brazil and South Africa

The Chief Executive Officer of the Inclusive Society Institute, Daryl Swanepoel, whilst in New York attending the United Nations’ Summit of the Future, attended a meeting on 20 September 2024 hosted by the Governments of Brazil and South Africa. The theme of the meeting was ‘Fair, inclusive and anti-racial economies to leave no one behind’.

The meeting was called to discuss a set of proposals under construction within the G20 to address global challenges, especially considering the priorities under the 2024 presidency of Brazil – combating hunger, poverty and inequality; promoting sustainable development and global governance reform. It also considered solutions related to debt relief and reforms of international financial institutions, multilateral development banks and the Global Tax Convention.
