About the Event

In cooperation with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, and on behalf of the Inclusive Society Institute, we take pleasure in inviting you or a representative of your organisation to the aforementioned roundtable discussion. This discussion / briefing session, we believe will be useful in preparing for the upcoming public hearings on the National Health Insurance Bill.

The roundtable discussion follows on the recommendations included in the institute’s report ‘Towards inclusive healthcare: Roundtable report on the National Health Insurance’, which report was published following the recent roundtable discussion at Deloitte that you participated in. This session will be attended by Hon. Ulla Schmidt, Member of the German Bundestag, who is the former Minister for Health for Germany. Hon. Schmidt was the longest serving Minister of Health in Europe and oversaw the implementation of the current German Healthcare system. 

Hon. Schmidt will be accompanied by Franz Knieps, who is on the board of German Health Insurance BKK. He has wide experienced in the functional transformation of health insurance systems in countries such as the East German GDR, in other East European countries, in Turkey, South Korea and Mongolia.
